Show Your Support as We Tee Off for The Northern Ireland Hospice

Here at The Country Garage we are encouraging you to join us on Friday 24th September for a Charity Golf Day at the Galgorm Castle in support of Northern Ireland Hospice and Children’s Hospice.

Tue 31 August 2021

The event, which is organised by the Ballymena Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Ireland Hospice Ballymena Support Group, is set to be the first-in person event in support of the Hospice since the COVID pandemic.

Charlotte Browne from the Northern Ireland Hospice, said: I’ve seen first hand the important work that the staff at Hospice do, and how they are always there for their patients and their families. I’d encourage all golf lovers, to join with us this September and book their 4-ball at the Galgorm Charity Golf Day. Not only will it be great craic, but every penny raised from this event goes directly to Hospice, ensuring they can continue to care for local people living with a life-limiting or life-threatening illness.

Event Organisers, The Ballymena Chamber of Commerce said: Golfing season is upon us, and what better way to enjoy a round of golf than to do it in support of a much-loved local charity. It’s been a tough year for everyone, and we are hoping to raise as much funds as possible for Northern Ireland Hospice, enabling the charity to continue to care for local people not only in Hospice buildings but across many homes in the community.

James Walker, owner of The Country Garage Ballymena, the principal charity partner for the event said: "Everyone in some shape or form, has been touched by the incredible work of the Northern Ireland Hospice and the Children's Hospice. As a privately owned business in Ballymena we were delighted to come on board as the principal partner, helping ensure that the Hospices can continue to deliver their specialist services across the province.

I would actively encourage other local businesses in the Ballymena area and beyond to show their support; this past eighteen months have shown many challenges for everyone but the Hospices still continued to be there for their patients and their families. If you can make a donation or sponsor a tee box at this event next month on the 24th September, it will ensure the Hospices can continue to be there for those who depend on their lifeline care. The incredible work of the Northern Ireland Hospice and Children's Hospice needs recognised and you can help make a difference with your support."

Partnership Manager at Northern Ireland Hospice, Catherine O’Hara, added: “The COVID pandemic has presented many fundraising challenges for us as a charity. We are really excited to host our first in-person event since the COVID pandemic and extremely grateful to our event organisers and event sponsors who have helped to bring this fundraising idea to life, and we would encourage as many individuals as possible and businesses across Northern Ireland to join us for this fun-filled event”.

It costs just £140 per four ball, or £180 per four ball including a delicious meal in Galgorm Castle post event. There are also a range of tee-rific sponsorship opportunities available, to support the event and the work of Northern Ireland Hospice.
